ATL-ien Tauheed Epps, better known as 2 Chainz, is getting a gift from Oklahoma City I know he wish he could return to sender.
According to reports, Chainz is facing time behind bars and a fine if convicted over his well-publicized tour bus traffic stop in August, following a concert in Oklahoma City. The traffic stop, which 2 Chainz reportedly held up a copy of the Constitution and refused to let the police enter his bus, resulted in the tour bus being towed with the rapper and entourage inside after police obtained a search warrant !!
Nationally known rapper 2 Chainz has been charged with a misdemeanor, accused of refusing police commands to exit a tour bus during a traffic stop in August in Oklahoma City. The Atlanta-based rapper — whose real name is Tauheed Epps — is charged with obstructing an officer in the performance of his official duties. If convicted, Epps, 36, faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The bus driver, Sedric Arozell Brooks, and a passenger,Abdullah Qawi Mujahid, were charged with the same misdemeanor. A bodyguard, Rory Dorell Smith, was charged with a felony, possession of a controlled dangerous substance

The whole incident was allegedly brought on because of a busted taillight on the bus. *insert side-eye here* A busted taillight on a tour bus ??!! I can’t even count how many times I have been pulled over for having an alleged brake light that was out that always seems to be working after being searched and guns drawn upon me. Strange .. but after his lengthy stand-off, reports claimed multiple weapons and drugs were found.
2 Chainz’ tour bus was carrying two semi-automatic pistols, a 12-gauge pump shotgun, plus prescription painkillers and weed paraphernalia before the rapper’s arrest last month … this according to official police documents. As we reported, 2 Chainz and ten other people on his tour bus were arrested two weeks ago following a concert in Oklahoma City … after police accused them of smoking weed on board. Cops pulled over 2 Chainz’ bus because of a busted taillight, but when they approached the vehicle … cops say they smelled pot and attempted to search the bus. 2 Chainz and co. refused to let cops on board, so the bus was towed to a police yard while a search warrant was obtained. (TMZ)

2 Chainz’s stand-off garnered kudos from those who have been through the brokentailpipesowegottasearchandseize routine all too common for people of color (DWB).
“No charges, just a bad day for me, basically, as far as me not being where I was supposed to be,” Chainz said in reference to his recent Oklahoma City arrest. “At the end of the day, I was trying to do something that I thought was right. I’m not trying to start anything with the law enforcement. I actually pay taxes so I’m kinda like helping them and stuff. So I’m not into that. It just got blew out of proportion. I apologize to the fans.” (Power 105.1)
I guess OKC police wanted to wait until the holidays so they could wrap the charges with a red bow
